Southwest One is a unique joint-venture partnership formed in 2007 between:

  • Somerset County Council

  • Taunton Deane Borough Council

  • Avon and Somerset Police and

  • IBM

Customer Contact Centre

Southwest One has transformed how customers access services for both Somerset County Council and Taunton Deane Borough Council by creating a shared Customer Contact Centre.  To find out more please contact us.

  • Managing back office and transactional services through a single shared service.

  • Delivering major strategic projects to transform the way the authorities work.

Delivering procurement savings

One of the main drivers for creating Southwest One was formalised collaboration across the three organisations to radically transform the Procurement Service into a centre of excellence tasked with delivering savings of more circa £200M over 10 years on a combined annual spend of more than £500m.
