Young Explorer Unit for Wellsprings Primary School

Youngsters at Wellsprings Primary School, Taunton are able to use the latest early learning technology thanks to Southwest One.

Donated by IBM, the KidSmart early learning programme is for young children, their parents and teachers. It uses a colourful, childproof computer unit and aims to encourage youngsters to learn how to interact with everyday technology in a fun way.

The Property Projects & Technical Resources team have contributed to a Report by the Westminster Sustainable Business Forum "Leaner & Green II Putting Buildings to Work" - their specific contribution is on P38

This report shows that much of this can be achieved by rationalising public sector property portfolios, working in partnerships and improving workplace conditions.

Southwest One celebrates delivery of new award-winning high-speed broadband network for Somerset schools and academies

Southwest One, through its partnership arrangement with Somerset County Council, has brought a new high-speed broadband network to Somerset’s schools and academies.

The unique nature of this network was recognised internationally in July, leading to Southwest One, IBM and BT winning an iCMG Enterprise & IT Architecture Excellence award for Future IT.
